What is NEET Merit List 2020

Merit list is the paper published by National Testing Agency (NTA) for the qualified candidates who can sit for the counselling process in 15% AIQ or states colleges. NEET State Wise Merit List 2020

Once NTA release 15% All India Quota merit list for candidates wanting to take admission in MBBS/BDS courses and rank list as well. For the remaining 85% seats state conducting authority prepare their own state-wise Rank list & Merit list 2020 which is used for admission of state domicile candidates. If you want to take admission through 15% AIQ which will be under the supervision of MCC, then you need to process through merit list issued by NTA, and if you want to take admission through deemed & central university then apply through NEET state wise rank list and merit list 2020.

Each state authority had started releasing merit list after which students who get the name in merit list can get a seat in MBBS & BDS courses in state-owned colleges or private institution. Also, a candidate to keep in mind not to compare the merit list of another state as each state has their own reservation policies, eligibility criteria and counselling process for admission.

A medical council committee will be organizing counselling for All India Quota of 15% students and state-owned medical authority will be organizing their own counselling set for the 85% reserved seats as per their norms.

NEET 2020 Waiting List

As per Supreme Court, NTA has to publish two merit lists for NEET examination. First is for the candidates whose score matches to norms and second will be NEET waiting list for candidates who do not get a name in the first list. It is good news for the aspirant who is looking for admission in MBBS/BDS as it will give them chance to appear for admission if the students from the first merit list do not show at the time of counseling.

NEET Merit List 2020 Tie-Break- Tie Breaking Process

Want to know the tie-breaking process for candidates who scored the same marks in NEET exam, then we will be describing it to clear the doubt. In case two or more aspirant get equal marks you will be holding different Rank in the list as NTA have rules for assigning rank in NEET 2017 merit list.

The rank list is based on following points:

  1. Candidate with higher marks in Biology (Botany & Zoology) which will be followed by,
  2. Candidates secured higher marks in Chemistry subject, higher the marks higher will be rank after this it will be followed by,
  3. In the proportion of Candidates attempted lesser number of wrong answers are and correct answer in all the subject and last it will be followed by
  4. Candidates older in age will be preferred.

NEET 2020 cut-off state wise

After the release of Cut-off by NTA for 15% students for AIQ, different colleges and states will release their NEET cut-off marks list after the declaration of result.

The cut-off marks are the lowest marks that students should get in order to have a name in merit list. Cut off marks give an idea to the possibility that candidate is eligible for counseling. The calculation of cut-off marks is done through formula and norms of colleges and state authority.

    • Sir, We can not say about the year 2020 as there will be many changes in the coming year, as from next year that is 2019, Independent agency is formulated for conducting national level examination one of which is NEET, JEE and others. New authority Name is NTA (National testing agency).

    • Yes, you can get admission in private medical college. But for govt college, participate in state quota counselling and wait for the 2-3 round counselling.
