Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), Belgaum was founded by Dr. B.S Jirge in the year 1963 and has its affiliation from the KLE University Karnataka, it has is a large firm which governs more than 200 institutions. All major operations of the University are solely managed and controlled by JNMC itself, the vision of University is to become the center of excellence in medical education and research which is for both national and global level.

JNMC belongs to a society known as Karnataka Lingayat Education Society (KLE) which was founded in the year 1916 and the principal on which the society is formed is educating the deprived society. The previous year rank cut off was 67659 for the general category and marks wise cut off scores were 471.
