What is Cut Off Marks?
Before sharing cut-off list for 2020, candidates must understand the meaning of cut-off marks. Cut-off marks are the minimum number of marks required by a candidate to pass/ qualify any exam. Candidates scoring marks above the cut-off marks means he/she has qualified the exam and vice-versa.
Cut-off depends on various factors like-
- Number of candidates appeared in the entrance exam.
- The level of difficulty of question s asked in the exam.
- Availability of seats in medical colleges.
- Marking scheme
NEET cut-off list is prepared on the basis of taking all the aforementioned factors into consideration. On the basis of cut-off list candidates are called for counseling and are granted admission in various medical colleges. Every medical college has fixed specific cut-off marks on basis of which candidates are granted admission. Cut-off marks are fixed category-wise, state-wise, college-wise etc.

PERCENTILE- Cut-off in NEET is measured in the form percentile. Percentile is number where a certain percentage of scores fall below that number. Suppose you have scored 50th percentile it means that you have scored better than 50% of the candidates who took the test. Percentile simply represents the performance of a candidate comparative to the other candidates who have appeared in the exam.

AP NEET Expected Cut Off Marks 2020

Seats Reservation In All India Quota For NEET 2020

Previously candidates from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana were not eligible to participate in NEET counselling through 15% All India Quota without providing a self-declaration form. But from this year they do not have to submit any self-declaration form.
Cut-off list and merit list for Andhra Pradesh will be released after the declaration of result on 5th June 2020. The result will include score/ marks obtained by the candidates. On the basis of scores obtained in the test cut- off and merit list will be prepared. The result will only contain marks obtained by the candidates not the category-wise cut-off or merit list of candidates.
Tie-Breaker Rule In Andhra Pradesh Cut-Off/Merit List of NEET 2020
In case of two candidates obtaining equal marks, a tie-breaker is used. The determine the inter-se-merit of such candidates following parameter are used-
- Preference will be given to the candidate obtaining highest marks in Biology (Botany & Zoology) in the qualifying test i.e. NEET.
- Candidates obtaining highest marks in Chemistry in the test.
- Candidates who have attended less number of wrong answers in all the subjects in the test.
- Candidate older in age will be given preference.
HIGHLIGHTS OF NEET 2020 CUT-OFF MARKS FOR ANDHRA PRADESH
- NEET CUT-OFF will be released after the declaration of result.
- On the basis of cut-off candidates will be able to participate in counselling.
- NEET 2020 counselling in Andhra Pradesh will tentatively start from 25th June 2020.
- Candidates scoring more than the cut-off marks will be able to attend counselling.
- Cut-off will be based on the marks on the obtained by the candidates in the exam. Therefore, the exact cut-off for NEET 2020 may differ from the expected cut-off. It may go high or may come down, depending on the various factors.
